Hope Church is a family of people of different ages from different walks of life who are united together because of a message that has changed our lives – there is hope, for this life and for eternity, through knowing and following Jesus Christ.

We are an independent, Bible believing church. The Bible, the written Word of God, is central to all that we believe and do. We are excited about the amazing message of the Bible, that sinners like us can be forgiven, come to know God, and receive eternal life because of Jesus’ death in our place, and His resurrection from the dead.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

We worship and serve God together as one church at Bethel Chapel in Cefn Hengoed and Calvary Chapel in Penybryn.

We are affiliated to the Associating Evangelical Churches of Wales (AECW). The AECW seeks to promote co-operation in fellowship and witness between all churches that embrace the evangelical faith. Hope Church belongs to the Gwent Valleys church cluster through which we co-operate together at a local level.

Hope Church is led by Pastors Steve Darby and Alun Johnson.  He oversees the work of the church with our two other Elders and two Deacons.
