We meet together to worship God on Sundays at 10.30am and 6pm at Bethel Chapel in Cefn Hengoed. Our services are usually led by our pastor but we occasionally welcome a visiting preacher or one of the church officers to lead. We sing a combination of traditional and modern hymns and choruses. We read the Bible and we pray. The central point of our worship is the preaching of God’s Word, the Bible.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy chapter 3 verses 16-17)
We have a Sunday School for children of primary school age who attend the morning service with their parents, family or friends.
Once a month we share communion together. Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is a commemoration of sacrifice of Jesus Christ offered once for all. The communion table is open to all those who love the Lord Jesus Christ and are in fellowship with the Church.
On the first Sunday of each month we hold a short worship service for the residents of the Valley View Care Home in Cefn Hengoed at 3.30pm.
We meet together to worship God on Wednesdays at 7.30pm. We have a short study around God’s Word, the Bible, led by the pastor or one of the church officers. We follow the Bible study with a time of corporate prayer.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians chapter 5 verses 16-18)
The Bible study and prayer meeting is held at Bethel Chapel in Cefn Hengoed on the first two Wednesdays of each month and at Calvary Chapel in Penybryn on the third and fourth Wednesdays of the month.
